HOʻOLAUNA
Aloha mai.
During the first two-week lesson of this course, we want to introduce you to a few basic Hawaiian protocol chants: Aloha E, Mahalo E and E Hō Mai.
You will also learn your Hoʻolauna or Introduction in Hawaiian, by sharing the places that have shaped you into who you are today. This Hoʻolauna should be memorized and will be part of your hōʻike at the end of the course.
You will also need to spend some time using Quizlet to learn the vocabulary needed to do your Hoʻolauna, so make sure you know all the words for our first Quizlet challenge next week.
Remember, once you know Hawaiian words, it will be really easy to make sentences in Hawaiian.
